Freexian’s report about Debian Long Term Support, November 2018

December 14, 2018 by Raphaël Hertzog

A Debian LTS logoLike each month, here comes a report about the work of paid contributors to Debian LTS.

Individual reports

In November, about 209 work hours have been dispatched among 14 paid contributors. Their reports are available:

  • Abhijith PA did 13 hours (out of 13 extra hours from October).
  • Antoine Beaupré did 24 hours.
  • Ben Hutchings did 20 hours.
  • Brian May did 10 hours.
  • Chris Lamb did 18 hours.
  • Emilio Pozuelo Monfort did 38 hours (out of 30 hours allocated + 47.25 extra hours, thus keeping 39.25 extra hours for December).
  • Hugo Lefeuvre did 15 hours.
  • Lucas Kanashiro did 4 hours.
  • Markus Koschany did 30 hours.
  • Mike Gabriel did 9 hours (out of 8 hours allocated + 4 extra hours, but gave back 2 hours, thus keeping 1 extra hour for December).
  • Ola Lundqvist did 9 hours (out of 8 hours allocated + 8 extra hours, thus keeping 7 extra hours for December).
  • Roberto C. Sanchez did 13.75 hours (out of 12 hours allocated + 2.5 extra hours, thus keeping 0.75 extra hours for December).
  • Santiago Ruano Rincón did 12 hours (out of 18 extra hours, thus keeping 6 extra hours for December).
  • Thorsten Alteholz did 30 hours.

Evolution of the situation

In November we had a few more hours available to dispatch than we had contributors willing and able to do the work and thus we are actively looking for new contributors. Please contact Holger if you are interested to become a paid LTS contributor.

The number of sponsored hours stayed the same at 212 hours per month but we actually lost two sponsors and gained a new one (silver level).

The security tracker currently lists 30 packages with a known CVE and the dla-needed.txt file has 32 packages needing an update.
